{"id":79,"date":"2013-09-21T09:46:26","date_gmt":"2013-09-21T17:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bridgefarmconsulting.com\/blog\/?p=79"},"modified":"2013-09-28T20:14:31","modified_gmt":"2013-09-29T04:14:31","slug":"twilio-salesforce-polaris-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgefarmconsulting.com\/blog\/twilio-salesforce-polaris-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Twilio + Salesforce + Polaris Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have worked with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.polarisproject.org\/about-us\/overview\" target=\"_blank\">Polaris Project<\/a> for several years now &#8211; they are a leading organization in the global fight against human trafficking and modern-day slavery and they are transforming the way that individuals and communities respond to human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>This year, we finished a project that I am still very proud of &#8211; helping victim of human trafficking ask for help via a text message. For people trapped in a trafficking situation, sending a text message might be the best of only opportunity to ask for help. And it <a href=\"http:\/\/readwrite.com\/2013\/09\/20\/sms-nonprofit-human-trafficking-text-crisis#awesm=~oi5VsGBgW7Hhlg\" target=\"_blank\">works<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>To power the text messaging service, Polaris partnered with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twilio.com\" target=\"_blank\">Twilio<\/a>, who this week launched <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twilio.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Twilio.Org<\/a> to help qualified non profits utilize their service with $500 of Twilio kickstart credits and 25% discount on Twilio Voice and Messaging products, and then you get to work with great guys like <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dN0t\" target=\"_blank\">Rob<\/a>, who helped me get everything working.<\/p>\n<p>We are finishing up a new version of the code, and Polaris has agreed that I can <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/britishboyindc\/TextToCase_Twilio_Salesforce\" target=\"_blank\">publish<\/a> that code for other organizations to use and learn from. It is still a work in progress and needs some refinement, so I&#8217;ll be making some updates to the code over the next few days, and then create a unmanaged package and some instructions about how you can get up and running with Twilio and Salesforce.
